Our Current Master

Worshipful Brother Trevor Campbell was initiated into the 1st Degree in the Duke of Leinster Lodge (‘The Duke’) on 15th November 1978, passed to the 2nd Degree on the 16th March 1979 and raised to the 3rd Degree on the 19th September 1979.

He has served as Worshipful Master of The Duke on four occasions and enjoys freemasonry enormously.

Trevor is a second-generation railwayman and was associated with that industry for more than 45 years. He worked in such places as Longreach, Collinsville, Cloncurry, Hughenden and Mayne, with short periods relieving in other centres.

Trevor spent 26years as State President of the Australian Railways Union (ARU), which later changed to the Rail Bus and Tram Union, and prior to that was Vice President of the ARU. He found no conflict between unionism and freemasonry; on the contrary, the principles are virtually the same in other words – helping others makes life worthwhile:

“Let us work for the cause that needs assistance
for the wrongs that need resistance
for the future in the distance
and the good that we may do.”

Trevor’s interests include History, Masonic History and Celtic History. He is very interested in Masonry and is a keen member of a number of Masonic orders.

He is very active in the Scottish community, as a life member, an executive member and on the board of governors of the Society of St. Andrew of Scotland. He is State President and Deputy National President of the Clan Campbell Society Australia Inc.
